TnT Shar Pei rescue Volunteer Form

TnT has become so successful at rescuing that we are in need of more volunteers to assist us.  In addition to our need for foster homes, we often require help in many of the regular tasks that our core members take on.

Because the need arises quickly, it would be helpful to know who, what, when, where and how you would be able to offer assistance.

This form is not auto-submitted, if you could copy and paste into an email and send to tdcole@shaw.ca thanks.

We are recruiting for all volunteer positiions e.g.  home visits,  transports, dog meet and greets etc.

Regional Co-ordinator Positions:

1) Could you manage the responsibility of being a Regional Coordinator?  A Regional Coordinator (RC) is responsible for certain geographical regions.

Responsibilities include the following tasks:

1)  Assessing dogs in shelters and responding to emails or calls from owner surrenders in your area, including working out details of when the dog will become a TnT dog, will money be paid to the shelter (ideally no!) and what kind of medical needs will be attended to prior to the dog being transferred to TnT (usually spay or neuter MINIMUM)

2)  Screening applications and calling the two references on the form.

3) Home visits for foster and adoptive homes.

4) Assisting with the transition of dog into foster or adoption home or from one to the other.

5) Follow up and regular contact with foster homes, especially in the beginning.

6) Ensuring the foster contracts and adoption contracts are signed and any fees are paid in cash or by certified cheque.

7) Arranging vet visits on behalf of the foster home(s) in your area, or coordinating such.

8)  Calling TnT approved vets for appointments and providing invoices to our record keeper once the payment has been made.

Yes, it is a lot of responsibility.  Currently our  TnT volunteers are managing very large areas on their own for example the North Shore to  Richmond, or the entire Fraser Valley.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!  Email and phone support is always available from our current RC’s.  We learn and support each other in our rescue efforts.
